My name is Devik Svalstedt and I’m an artist from Sweden. On this site you can view all of my bodies of work which I’ve made over the past few years, as well as some of my photography.
Biography
Growing up with my grandmother, Cynthia Ebin, an international sculptor, painter and art instructor, I’ve been exposed to art at an early age. Both from the times I’ve painted with her during her visits and from her paintings on display in my house. I’ve always been fascinated by her style which stands out from other, more realistic, paintings I’ve seen and I have always wondered how they were made with such depths and expression.
After a visit from my grandmother, in the summer of 2014, when she taught me her art-processes, I was intrigued by them. I then continued learning from her through video calls on the computer after she’d left where I would continue to paint with her guidance. Since then I’ve expanded in my painting process and found new unique ways of painting which suits me the best and which has allowed me to develop my own style. I’m constantly exploring new ways to paint and express my emotions in the form of art and growing as an artist.
